How to bringing presence and fullness to "the little moments" can create huge ripple effects.

Recently, I kissed someone for the first time.
It was sweet, and I could kind of feel them going through the motions…
“Okay, first we kiss the lips, then we kiss the neck, then we lift the shirt, then we unbutton the pants”
I stopped him and asked if he was in his head. He gave an emphatic yes lol. I think he was also pretty nervous, heck, so was I!
I invited us to simply breathe together To feel our own hearts To feel what was truly alive and present And move from there
From this place There was only a very long slow kiss Lips touching lightly Breathing into each other’s mouths Feeling each others heart beats Stillness
And it was soooo rich. So much more present Open Real Honest
It was the true expression of our beings together in that moment. No script. No this and then this and then this Mind twelve steps ahead Only, this. This.
When we grow up we are taught four bases. We are taught the sequence of life.
You kiss. You feel. You feel a little more. You fuck.
You go to school. You go to more school. You get a grown up job. You retire.
You go on a cruise. You die.
You go on a date. You go on several dates. You get married You have kids Your relationships fizzles And that’s normal.
We aren’t taught or shown How to live life on our own terms How to meet the present moment with true presence How to meet each other with raw honesty How to move intrinsically, from the depths of our being
And this is a shame. Because the richness and magic of life Can only be found by walking our own path Can only be found by living in the present tense
There is the kiss And then there is the world within the kiss
There will always be a next step But right now is simply… now. And now is *everything.*
This is so obvious. But most of us don’t slow down enough to dance with and dive into the present moment The truth of what is The magic and wisdom and subtleties of slowness
And when we do? Our being blooms The world brightens Relationships can breathe Our bodies can soften and relax and open We can meet each other as we are We can live OUR life.
Whew.
"There is the kiss and then there is the world within the kiss"
You can have this too...
